10 REASONS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF EATING BREAD
The inhabitants of Balearic Islands can know the
blessing of the importance of the bread to the health.
The Balearic pharmacists cooperated with the “Campanya Pan Cada Día” and they distributed 42000
flyers in 400 pharmacys. These flyers contained some information about the
importance of bread.
The objective of this campaign is to make the population aware about the consumption of bread.
In the
last years, people have believed that the bread produced overweight and obesity,
and many people have reduced it in their diets.
Ten reasons why bread should be part of
our diet:
- Bread is the base of the Mediterranean
diet.
- Bread, with the other cereal, is the base of the food pyramid.
- Bread provides carbohydrates, proteins, minerals,
vitamins and fiber.
- Experts recommend consuming between 220 and
250 grams of bread a day distributed in different meals.
- It is recommended that children and
adolescents consume bread, especially at breakfasts, because is good for
academic efficiency.
- Bread is a food without fat.
- Have a great “satiate” effect thanks to its high fiber content.
- Bread is an economic and easy to digest.
- The sandwich is a perfect alternative because it offers the nutritional benefits of “ embotit”.
- In the market there are a variety of textures and flavors of bread.
